With beer gardens finally open again and the sun shining down on us, Teessiders are getting that first post-lockdown sip in their droves, and we all know if it’s not on Instagram, it doesn’t count!
The team at Acquiro Digital have compiled a list of the most Instagrammable beer gardens in Teesside, by analysing hashtags for destinations around our part of the world as well as TripAdvisor reviews.

1. The Dickens Inn
A firm Teesside favourite, The Dickens Inn has always been a hotspot for Instagrammers.
2. The Scruffy Duck
One of the newest editions to Norton’s bustling bar scene, The Scruffy Duck is Teesside’s rising star, with a TripAdvisor rating of 4.5 and blankets on tap for the chillier days. What’s not to love?
3. Storytellers
As one of Stockton’s favourite pre-lockdown destinations for live music & special events, Storytellers has a beautiful new beer garden and walk-ins are welcome!
4. Hope & Union
Stockton’s hidden gem won’t be hidden for much longer if you carry on Instagramming as much as you do! Hope & Union is also the only establishment on this list with a 5 star TripAdvisor rating – what’s not to love!
5. The Roundel
A huge beer garden, with the recent addition of festival lights so you can carry on sipping after dark.
6. Swatters Carr
Perfect for starting your Linthorpe Road beer garden crawl, Swatters Carr has been a Middlesbrough favourite for years.
7. The Keys
For those of you who prefer the finer things in life, The Keys has been a popular restaurant and nightlife spot in Yarm for years, and their recently refurbished beer garden is just as well-liked!
8. The Beckfields
An incredibly popular choice for Sunday Lunches and Pub Quizzes, the large beer garden is now open for all your pint pics.
9. Southern Cross
Well-equipped for the Great British weather with giant parasols, you won’t even have to lift a finger while at the Southern Cross! (Except to use your phone of course, to snap a photo or order on their app).
10. The Talpore
Located on the Tees Barrage, this is Teesside’s biggest beer garden – and they’re dog friendly too!
After being locked down for so long with little to nothing to post on our Instagrams except half-baked banana bread, who can blame us for wanting to document our first steps back into ‘normal life’? So get out there and get Instagramming!
